The Hopkinton Independent is the only newspaper in Hopkinton that is delivered to every home and business in Hopkinton. We reach more than 6,200 locations via the US Postal Service. The newspaper is available for pick up at no charge at many businesses in Hopkinton including: Colella’s, Hopkinton Drug, Phipps Insurance, RE/MAX, Town Hall and Town Library. The paper is also available at businesses in Ashland, Holliston, Milford, Westborough and Southborough. The Hopkinton Independent is published every two weeks. FROM THE EDITORS: Goodbye 2014. With this issue, we will be taking our annual winter break.We will begin our 16th year of publishing this paper with the February 12, 2015 issue. All the staff of the Independent are looking forward to the break and the chance to enjoy our families without running off to a story. We will return with our first 2015 issue on January15. We have enjoyed (almost) every minute of the past 15 years, We continue to be fortunate with our incredible staff who are all committed to strive for the best in what we bring to you, our readers and advertisers. Another reminder, please visit and support our advertisers. Without their continual support, the paper could not come to all households and businesses in town. We thank them!   • Telephone Requests for Funding / Hopk. Fire Department.
    It has come to my attention today that a company or companies are conducting telephone requests for funding to assist the Hopkinton Fire Department. At this time the Hopkinton Fire Department and Hopkinton Permanent Firefighters Local 3772 ARE NOT conducting any fund raising efforts with outside entities. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused for the residents of our community. Respectfully, Fire Chief Ken Clark
