HHS girls basketball returns to action with rout of Holliston

by | Jan 26, 2021 | Sports

The Hopkinton High School girls basketball team returned to the court Tuesday night after a long COVID-caused layoff with a 57-37 victory over visiting Holliston.

Impressive performances came from junior guards Lauren Cho, who tallied 14 points, and Kiki Fossbender, who netted 13, while senior guard Maggie Hedstrom scored 12.

“I was really happy with the pace we played at tonight, and it was truly a team effort,” coach Mike Greco said after his team improved to 3-1.

The Hillers, who had not played in two weeks, were to play Medfield on Tuesday and Friday this week, but Medfield canceled the games. Holliston was subbed in for Tuesday. The Hillers now are off until next Tuesday, when they host Westwood.

The HHS boys basketball team, which has not played since Jan. 12, is scheduled to return to action next Tuesday as well, visiting Westwood.
