The Hopkinton High School volleyball team continued its strong start this week, posting a 3-1 victory over Westwood on Tuesday to improve to 6-1.

The Hillers dropped a close first set, 25-23, before taking charge with 25-19, 25-12 and 25-20 wins. Senior Cadyn Boyce had a big kill to start the Hillers on a 5-0 run and break open a tight final set, which ended on a Mirabella Paolucci kill.

That match was the Hillers’ Dig Pink fundraiser, in which the team raised money for the Side-Out Foundation, an organization that supports clinical trials for patients with Stage 4 breast cancer.

Weatherhead qualifies for All-America

The HHS girls swimming and diving team posted a close 93-77 victory over Ashland last week. In that meet, diver Tess Weatherhead attained the necessary score for All-America qualification.

This week the girls lost for the first time in five meets, a 95-79 setback vs. Framingham.

The boys team saw its three-meet win streak come to an end with a 102-68 loss to Ashland, followed by a 98-82 loss to Framingham. In the Framingham meet, freshman Brandon Fu won the breaststroke and Davis Peishoff won the backstroke.
