Hopkinton Today: Thursday, June 2

by | Jun 2, 2022 | Featured: Features, Hopkinton Today

Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo and video of the day.

According to founder Ben Schumaker, the goal of the Memory Project is to promote intercultural understanding and kindness between children around the world. Members of the National Art Honor Society at Hopkinton High School are among the participants. For the fourth year, HHS advanced art students created and shared portraits and inspirational artwork with younger kids in other countries like India, Nigeria and Sierra Leone.

The Hopkinton High School boys and girls tennis teams completed impressive regular seasons and have high hopes for the state tournament.

This week’s edition of the Police Log includes reports of aggressive dogs, a 2 a.m. fishing excursion, and ongoing problems with traffic and illegal parking outside Hopkinton State Park.

The latest Senior Snippets includes information on presentations about J.M.W Turner, who was a beloved 19th century painter in Great Britain, as well as penguins in Antarctica.

Town meetings tonight include the Hopkinton Democratic Town Committee (6:30) and Open Space Preservation Commission (7).

Photo of the Day: This issue’s winner of the Hopkinton Independent/Bill’s Pizza photo contest is Anay Pachori for this photo of a bright sunset over town.
