Main Street Corridor Project update: Work progresses on both ends of corridor

by | Sep 27, 2024 | News

The town’s latest Main Street Corridor Project update released Friday noted that work will continue on both ends of the corridor.

Brick strip installation by A.F. Amorello & Sons, the project’s construction company, will continue during the upcoming week on the east side of the project. Meanwhile, overhead utility line transfer work will continue on the west side of the project. Electrical line connections may begin to be made.

Eversource crews will continue performing the preliminary work associated with the transformers. All 12 transformers have been installed. Shifting power lines from being overhead to underground is expected to begin in early October.

This schedule may change due to weather and existing conditions found while performing these tasks. This work may impact traffic and require lane and sidewalk closures, limiting access to driveways and entrances to businesses. Detours and alternating traffic patterns may be used as necessary.
