Sports Roundup: HHS boys tennis rolls into semis

The Hopkinton High School boys tennis team dominated visiting Walpole, 5-0, on Thursday to advance to the Division 2 state semifinals.

The top-seeded Hillers (21-0), who won four of the five matches in straight sets, next will play fourth-seeded Duxbury (18-3) on Monday at 4 p.m. at Bridgewater-Raynham High School.

HHS track athletes shine

At the Meet of Champions on Thursday, HHS track standout Sean Finnegan finished seventh in the 2-mile while Josie Hopkins took eighth in the pentathlon.

Softball plays Saturday

The second-seeded HHS softball team (19-3) will host seventh-seeded Westwood (15-4) on Saturday at 6 p.m. in the Division 2 quarterfinals.
