The Water Department informed residents that water discoloration around the Alprilla Farm Road Wells 7 and 8 is possible as they were returned to service on Wednesday.
Water-Sewer Manager Jed Fenneuff stated in a notice that residents in the Front Street, Briarcliff Drive and Connelly Hill Road areas may experience temporary water discoloration as the Alprilla Farm wells come back online. The two wells are returning to service “in preparation for the upcoming high-demand season,” Fenneuff explained.
Residents who experience discoloration can resolve the issue by flushing the cold water pipes in their homes. Doing so allows trapped sediments to be released.
Discolored water is safe to drink, but the town does not recommend using it for washing laundry.
