Business Profile: Bill Gassett of RE/MAX Executive Realty

by | Oct 25, 2018 | Business

He has been a Realtor for more than 31 years and lived in Hopkinton his entire life. When it comes to describing both his career and the place he calls home to this day, RE/MAX Executive Realty agent Bill Gassett might say he is happily deep rooted in both.

Speaking with him, his passion for real estate is apparent. Gassett seems to love all aspects of the industry from the ground up, and which likely began at a young age.

“My dad was a builder, so I grew up around it and ended up building my first house in Hopkinton at 23 years old,” Gassett said.

It was actually at the suggestion of his father that he take a real estate course while he was attending Northeastern University.

“I didn’t really want to,” Gassett admitted. But thankfully he did and discovered his life time career.

Yet it’s not just his experience that his clients have come to appreciate and count on. It’s also his friendly approach, honesty and integrity that have made him the success he is and the reason he was named the number six agent in New England last year and involved in 94 transactions.

Of his three decades as a Realtor, nearly 22 of those years he has worked for RE/MAX and said there’s a reason for that. Not only does he love the entrepreneurial spirit of the company, he said, RE/MAX agents put a little more than their time and commitment into their careers.

“We pay for our own personal expenses. I pay rent here,” Gassett explained of his South Street office space.

As a result, RE/MAX agents have a vested interest to buy and sell on the best terms for their clients in the shortest period of time possible.

“It definitely makes you work a little harder and why mostly seasoned, established agents work for the company,” he said.

The Hopkinton resident is an avid writer who likes to use those skills to help buyers, sellers, and other Realtors. His highly viewed blog, “Maximum Real Estate Exposure,” has featured everything from “What are the benefits of a VA loan,” and “How to win a bidding war,” to “How you know you picked a bad real estate agent.” He’s written for other prestigious real estate and financial sites including RIS Media, National Association of Realtors, Inman News, Placester, RESAAS, and Credit Sesame, among others.

Still, when it comes to hiring an agent, Gassett doesn’t mince words.

“Talk to several agents before choosing one. It’s a big decision and shouldn’t be made without talking to more than one person.”

Anyone who is thinking about buying or selling a home and is interested in utilizing a seasoned agent, Bill Gassett can be contacted by calling his office located at 22 South St. in Hopkinton at 508-435-6700, directly at 508-435-5356, or via email at billgassett@remaxexec.com.
