Bollywood band to perform on Town Common this Sunday

by | Aug 9, 2021 | Featured

The Parks & Recreation Department’s Concert on the Common this Sunday will have an Indian flavor, as Din Check — billed as New England’s premier Bollywood band — performs at 5 p.m.

The performance coincides with India Independence Day and is part of Parks & Rec’s initiative to “include more diverse musical acts to the concert series,” Parks & Rec director Jay Guelfi stated.

“It should be quite a spectacle!” added Parks & Rec Commission Member Laura Hanson, who booked the band.

Din Check, according to its website, is a “high-energy group of dynamic personalities” that performs the most popular Bollywood sings, from golden oldies to the latest hits.

Last Sunday, the Town Common hosted Grupo Fantasia, which plays Latin and Caribbean music.
