Business Profile: Christine Burke law office specializes in estate planning

by | Feb 22, 2022 | Business, Featured

Christine Burke

Christine H. Burke has practiced law in Hopkinton for nearly 30 years.

Attorney Christine H. Burke has operated a private law practice in Hopkinton since 1994 and is excited to continue sharing her expertise from a new office location at 52 Pleasant Street. Formerly located at 77 Main Street, Burke’s practice focuses primarily on estate planning. As a tax lawyer, her work is centered on wills, trusts, probate administration and tax compliance. Burke also represents both individual and corporate clients in business organization and contract law. Prior to launching her private practice, Burke worked in corporate taxation for a multinational computer firm.

Burke recently relocated to Hopkinton after being a Hopedale resident for the majority of the past 30 years. Her public service career began in Hopedale, where she was an elected official and served on the Select Board and Water and Sewer Commission. Burke also served as a trustee for the Milford Regional Medical Center for approximately 16 years and is a trustee for the Hopedale Foundation, a private foundation established by the Draper Corporation.

In addition to serving in official positions, Burke has engaged with local community groups in Hopkinton, Hopedale, Upton and Milford to share her legal expertise through guest lectures and informational sessions on issues of tax and probate law and Medicaid planning.

After earning her Juris Doctor from Suffolk University Law School in 1982, Burke was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 1982 and the United States District Court of Massachusetts in 1984. She then went on to earn a Master of Laws in Taxation (LLM) from Boston University in 1985.

With tax season in full swing, consulting with an expert like Burke can ensure income and estate tax filing is conducted with the utmost accuracy and efficiency for both individuals as well as small business clients. Burke’s extensive experience in the field paired with her genuine concern for clients’ well-being make her particularly well suited for this profession.

Since much of Burke’s work takes place upon the loss of a family member, Burke emphasizes that her ability to handle cases with compassion and understanding is key. Her sincere empathy is essential as she “helps families through a very difficult time.”

In addition to her estate planning specialization, Burke represents buyers and sellers in real estate, and she also has an extensive referral network with financial planners and other attorneys. Burke looks forward to continuing to assist residents of Hopkinton and the surrounding region and encourages prospective clients to call 508-435-8500 or email christine.burke.law@gmail.com for more information.
