Crews flush hydrants on Colella Farm Road, Joseph Road due to water discoloration

by | Sep 11, 2026 | News

In a notice to residents, Water-Sewer Manager Jed Fenneuff announced that crews were flushing hydrants in the area of Colella Farm Road and Joseph Road due to discolored water Friday.

Fenneuff anticipated the discolored water would dissipate shortly following the flushing.

Residents who experience discoloration can resolve the issue by flushing the cold water pipes in their homes. Doing so allows trapped sediments to be released. The Water-Sewer Department recommends residents check their water before use.

Discolored water is safe to drink, but the town does not recommend using it for washing laundry.

For more information, visit the Water Department’s website or call 508-497-9765.
