Greyhound Friends is celebrating International Dog Day with a fun gathering of friends and neighbors, dog people and especially dogs on Saturday, Aug. 27, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the facility at 167 Saddle Hill Road. Well-behaved and sociable pups are invited to enjoy special treats, including brush-outs, nail-painting, cooling pools/sprinklers, frozen pup-cups, music, games and other activities. Admission is free. Rain date is Aug. 28. The organization also is hosting a redeemable can/bottle drive in hopes of raising enough money to purchase a riding mower.
