The Hopkinton Garden Club’s annual spring plant sale is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 8, from 8 a.m. to noon on the Hopkinton Town Common. Club members will be selling perennials, many dug from their own gardens, and annuals, to include a wide variety of flowers, vegetables and herbs. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, safety protocols will be implemented to include mandatory masks, contactless payment, and one-way shopping with appropriate distancing. Because the Downtown Corridor Project is underway, this year’s sale will take place on the Park Street (rear) side of the Common. Cash, check and credit card payments will be accepted.
Club leadership is monitoring the local pandemic infection numbers should postponement be necessary. Also, a rain date, in the event of very heavy rain only, is planned for Sunday, May 9, 9 a.m. to noon. Any necessary updates will be published on the club’s website (hopkintongardenclub.org), Facebook page (facebook.com/HopkintonGardenClub) and Instagram (@hopkintongardenclub).
The spring plant sale is the Hopkinton Garden Club’s major annual fundraiser. All members participate in this event, which funds the club’s town beautification efforts and the club’s education programs, to include the lecture series and the scholarship fund as well as conservation objectives.
The Hopkinton Garden Club is a nonprofit organization whose mission in the local community is education, beautification and conservation. The club was organized in 1924 and is an affiliate of The Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts.
