The upper and main beaches at Hopkinton State Park remain closed after being deemed unsafe for swimming due to high bacteria counts observed on Tuesday.
The state’s Department of Conservation and Recreation announced Wednesday that there were high levels of enterococci bacteria, posing a harm risk if a person is submerged in or ingests the water.
“No appreciable change,” stated Health Department Director Shaun McAuliffe in an email on Wednesday.
The beaches have been closed for more than a month because of unsafe water quality, a circumstance that has been observed statewide over the past month.
Lake Maspenock remains open for swimming and other recreational use.
