HHS sports roundup: Girls hockey drops close game

by | Jan 27, 2021 | Sports

The Hopkinton/Dover-Sherborn girls hockey co-op team dropped a 2-0 decision to Norwood on Wednesday night.

The game was a tough defensive battle, and coach Scott Hayes praised senior goalie Kristin McCluskey, saying she was “excellent.”

Added Hayes: “Our team played very hard tonight and we are proud of that.”

The team will look to bounce back when it faces Norwood again on Sunday.

Track teams face Westwood

The Hillers track teams had a meet against Westwood, however, being a last-minute addition and because HHS already had competed against Westwood, no scores were recorded.

For the girls, senior Hailey Tolson won the 55 meters and the 300. Junior Grace Joy won the 600 and anchored the winning 4×400 relay with Katie Callery, Emme Joy and Kate Powers. Callery also took third in the mile, while Joy finished third in the shot put. Sophomore Autumn Tumbleton won the 1,000, with freshman Abby Flanagan second and junior Hayley Glassburn third. Sophomore Keira O’Connor won the high jump, with freshman Kiley Locke placing second. Junior Sowmya Karthikeyan took second in the 55 hurdles.
