Hopkinton schools continue to receive strong marks from national ratings organizations, as U.S. News & World Report placed Hopkinton High School third in the state for 2020.
Superintendent Carol Cavanaugh shared the news with the schools community Tuesday morning, writing in an email: “Congratulations to the High School administration, faculty and staff, and also to educators in the other four schools, HMS, Hopkins, Elmwood and Marathon, who prepare all of our children along the way. And thank you to you, the community, who support your schools with money, time, and resources. This ranking is quite an honor.”
Boston Latin School was ranked No. 1, while Sturgis Charter Public School in Hyannis was No. 2. Following HHS were Advanced Math and Science Academy Charter School in Marlborough (4) and Dover-Sherborn Regional (5). The survey considers 345 schools in the state.
Factors used in the rankings include college readiness, math and reading proficiency, math and reading performance, underserved student performance, college curriculum breadth and graduation rate.
