Due to a power outage caused by Monday’s storm, the Hopkinton Public Schools announced that all schools will close early.

Hopkinton High School and Hopkinton Middle School — which were running on “minimal generator power,” according to HHS Principal Evan Bishop — will dismiss at 11 a.m., while the elementary schools will close at noon.

All after-school activities are canceled.

Eversource reported “experiencing a high volume of outages” in the Hopkinton area and cautioned residents to “treat downed wires as live and dangerous, always stay at least 10 feet away and never drive over them.”

The Hopkinton Department of Public Works was working to clear downed trees and/or wires on South Mill Street, Hayward Street and Winter Street.
