Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo and video of the day.
Hopkinton High School Principal Evan Bishop emailed the HHS community Thursday to announce that a Keefe Tech student from Hopkinton has died. Bishop indicated that his staff was made aware of the student’s death by the Keefe Tech administration Thursday morning. He did not share the name of the student “out of respect for the family.”
Hopkinton’s latest COVID-19 update shows a record number of cases in town — more than 225 — including more than 100 in the previous 48 hours. Residents now are advised to wear a face covering when indoors, regardless of vaccination status, and all town board and committee meetings are to be held remotely.
The Hopkinton Center for the Arts will host a free, kid-friendly New Year’s Eve event on Dec. 31 from 3-5 p.m. The drop-by event will include a noisemaker craft, live music from Rob Millett, an ice sculpting demonstration, hot chocolate and more.
Photo of the Day: Hopkinton emergency personnel responded to a vehicle rollover Thursday afternoon at the intersection of West Main Street and West Elm Street.
