Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo and video of the day.
The Upper Charles Trail Committee is at a crossroads, members acknowledged in a meeting Wednesday, and it’s not clear how it can find a path forward. Town Engineer Dave Daltorio dropped a bombshell midway through the meeting when he said the group’s favored proposal to have much of the Upper Charles Trail run along Hayden Rowe Street/Route 85 might require a complete overhaul of the street layout in order to avoid infringing on private property.
At its meeting on Wednesday, the Parks & Recreation Commission discussed updates on the Fruit Street fields replacement project as well as a pedestrian connectivity survey and spring and summer programming.
The 2022 Hopkinton PolyArts festival will be held at the Town Common on Saturday, Sept. 10, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The event, established in 1974, features regional artisans, crafters and local nonprofits. Applications are now being accepted for vendors.
