Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo and video of the day.
Hopkinton schools will be closed Friday due to the predicted snowstorm. “As you may know, the upcoming snow event is predicted to be plowable and substantial; and further, the greatest impact is going to occur during the morning commute,” Superintendent Carol Cavanaugh wrote in an email to schools families.
Also due to the snow, E.L. Harvey has canceled curbside trash pickup for the day. All Friday pickups instead will take place on Saturday.
The town announced that applications are being accepted from local organizations seeking to obtain a Boston Marathon charity number. Numbers will be distributed to qualified organizations through a random selection.
This week’s Baypath Humane Society Adoptable Animal is an 8-year-old male German shepherd/mixed breed named Shark, who recently arrived from Florida and would do best in a home without young children due to a hip issue.
