Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a video or two to brighten your morning.
The big news from yesterday was the Boston Marathon calling off its live race and opting for a virtual version instead. It’s the first time in the race’s 124-year history it won’t be run.
The Hopkinton High School graduation parade is tomorrow at 1 p.m. It starts at the high school and passes by all the schools in town before returning to HHS. For more details on the route, click here. The superintendent predicts about 300 vehicles will be participating, so it could take a while. The parade can be viewed on HCAM (both television and YouTube live feed), and there will be radio coverage via WMRC 101.3 FM.
Another company is hoping to open a cannabis research facility in Hopkinton. This lab would be located at the PerkinElmer Health Sciences facility on Parkwood Drive (off Elm Street). A community outreach meeting (as required by the state) is scheduled for Monday, June 8, at 7 p.m. Earlier this month ATOZ Laboratories held a community outreach meeting to discuss plans for its proposed facility on South Street.
Video of the Day: Here’s a look at the Bailong elevator in China’s Zhangjiaji National Forest Park. The Guinness Book of Records recognizes it as the world’s tallest outdoor lift, rising 1,070 feet.
Music Video of the Day: Here’s “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)” by Green Day. Enjoy.
