Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo and video of the day.
The next two weekends are packed with activities in town. This weekend’s events include the Sept. 11 Memorial Service at the Town Common on Saturday from 3-5 p.m. The 13th annual Hopkinton Tennis Tournament starts today and runs all weekend at the high school courts. The Hopkinton Center for the Arts is hosting the annual Marathon Quilters Show, titled “Imagine the Possibilities,” on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. The HCA also has its Fall Open House & Registration, a free outdoor event, Saturday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. On Sunday the Hopkinton Farmers Market returns to the Town Common from 1-5 p.m. Also, Sunday, the Hopkinton Basketball Association has its first round of tryouts for the 2021-22 season of youth travel basketball. The Baypath Humane Society Adoptable Animal of the Week is Smokey, a 3-month-old kitten who loves to be pet and enjoys snuggling and wrestling with his brother.
