Good morning, Hopkinton!
For those new to the site, this post is a daily update we call Hopkinton Today. We’ll have a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights for the coming day and a video or two to brighten your day.
The Select Board has a meeting tonight (6:30), which can be viewed on HCAM or Zoom (check the town’s website for details). Among the items on the agenda: The board will consider declaring a state of emergency in town, and will meet internal candidates for police chief.
Meanwhile, the School Committee has its regular meeting Thursday and plans a vote on whether to eliminate April vacation.
Here’s the town’s COVID-19 update from yesterday. As of 11 a.m. yesterday there were 15 confirmed Hopkinton COVID-19 cases, seven of which were active.
There is concern that the coronavirus pandemic could delay the construction of the town’s first official dog park, which will be situated on the athletic fields access road off Fruit Street. Construction was supposed to start this fall and be completed by the end of the fall.
Viral video of the day: Not much to see here, just a man enjoying some quality time at the pool with his pet duck.
Music video of the day: Here’s the Stampeders with the banjo-heavy “Sweet City Woman” from 1971. Enjoy.
