Good morning, Hopkinton!
For those new to the site, this post is a daily update we call Hopkinton Today. We’ll have a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights for the coming day and a video or two to brighten your day.
The Planning Board met via Zoom last night, primarily to discuss the proposed commercial solar photovoltaic overlay district, and a number of residents checked in to voice their opposition to constructing commercial solar arrays in residential areas. The board decided to continue the public discussion at a future meeting before finalizing the item that will go before Town Meeting voters in June (or whenever Town Meeting ultimately takes place). We’ll have a more detailed story later today. (UPDATE: New story will come Wednesday.)
The Select Board meets tonight. The public portion of the meeting is scheduled to start at 6:30, after the board meets in executive session. The meeting can be viewed on HCAM. Those wanting to comment during the public forum can find instructions on how to join the Zoom meeting at the town website.
According to Hopkinton’s COVID-19 dashboard page, the town’s numbers continue to rise. Hopkinton has had 91 confirmed cases of the disease, with 70 active cases, 18 recovered and three deaths.
Hopkinton’s Town Hall virtual office hours program continues today with the Treasurer/Collector’s Office. From noon-2 p.m., anyone with a question can check in via Zoom or phone for assistance.
