Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a video or two to brighten your morning.
In 1996, Cindy Reimer and Joanne Brine created the Marathon Quilters Guild, a small group of members from varying communities who unify through their admiration for quilting and fiber arts. Now, 25 years later, the program still is going strong and is preparing to host its biennial quilting show at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts on Sept. 11-12.
Despite not being on a team any longer, Hopkinton’s Abby Jaye continues to play plenty of competitive golf. The 2019 Hopkinton High School graduate recently took part in the Massachusetts Women’s Amateur Championship at Plymouth Country Club.
Registration for Hopkinton Basketball Association travel basketball is open for the 2021-22 season. The HBA travel program is returning to league play after only holding clinics last season due to the pandemic.
Photo of the Day: Members of the Hopkinton High School boys and girls cross country teams harvested 1,300 pounds of fresh tomatoes at Community Harvest Project on Friday. The tomatoes then were donated to area food pantries.
