Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo and video of the day.
The Hopkinton Teachers Association on Monday sent out a press release criticizing last week’s decision by the School Committee to approve a three-week mask-optional trial period for vaccinated individuals at Hopkinton High School.
The annual Halloween costume parade for the town’s kindergartners and first grade is not being held this year, according to recent announcement from Marathon School. “I recognize that this change will upset many,” principal Lauren Dubeau wrote in an email to school families. “Critical reflection on the purpose of the Harvest Parade in school resulted in this change.”
Leading off Business Briefs, the waste and recycling services company E.L. Harvey & Sons, which runs a facility in Hopkinton on the border with Westborough, recently was acquired by Waste Connections.
This week’s edition of Senior Snippets includes information on programs including a workshop on telling your life story as well as laughter yoga.
Town meetings tonight include the Veterans Celebration Committee (7). There also will be a PFAs public informational meeting at 5:30.
