Hopkinton Today: Wednesday, Aug. 25

by | Aug 25, 2021 | Hopkinton Today

Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a video or two to brighten your morning.

The state’s Board of Elementary and Secondary Education — after previously indicating each district would make its own determination — on Tuesday announced a statewide mask requirement for all public K-12 students and staff through at least Oct. 1.

The Planning Board on Monday night granted two permits for Eversource’s facility improvement project at the liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility at 52 Wilson St. after a two-hour discussion that encompassed a growing concern about stormwater mitigation in the area that was beyond the board’s purview.

The Hopkinton Police Department will host its annual Hopkinton Night Out event on Thursday, Sept. 9, from 5-7:30 p.m. at the Town Common. It will include table exhibits, demonstrations, food, music, games, a bounce house, face painting and more.

Town meetings tonight include the Board of Appeals (7).

Photos of the Day: Retiring Fire Chief Steve Slaman was given a memorable sendoff Tuesday at the station.
