Hopkinton Today: Wednesday, Dec. 30

by | Dec 30, 2020 | Hopkinton Today

Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a video or two to brighten your morning.

The Boston Athletic Association announced Tuesday that it will not be able to confirm a date for the 2021 Boston Marathon until “early 2021.” The BAA announced in October that the race would not be held on its traditional date of the third Monday in April and will be postponed “until at least the fall of 2021” due to the pandemic. At the time, the BAA said it hoped to announce a date before the end of 2020.

Superintendent Carol Cavanaugh emailed the schools community Tuesday with an update regarding Massachusetts’ new requirement that all students must show proof of vaccination for influenza immunization. The deadline — originally Dec. 31 — recently was extended to Feb. 28 by the state.

The town recently posted two job openings. One is for a full-time conservation administrator, and the other is for a full-time health services agent.

Town meetings tonight include the Capital Improvement Committee (6) and Library Board of Trustees (7).
