Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a video or two to brighten your morning.
Brian Keefe scored 20 points as the Hopkinton High School boys basketball team closed out its pandemic-shortened season with an exciting 60-56 home victory over rival Ashland on Tuesday afternoon. Josh Czerepuszko added 17 points for the Hillers, who finished with a 3-6 record. Meanwhile, in Ashland, Lauren Cho scored 14 points to lead the HHS girls team to a 51-23 rout and a final record of 7-5.
During its meeting Tuesday night, the Design Review Board unanimously recommended approval of the minor site plan modification for an outdoor seating expansion behind Cornell’s Irish Pub. The Hayden Rowe Street establishment next will appear before the Planning Board on March 1 for further discussion and a likely vote.
Hopkinton Babe Ruth Baseball registration is open via the Parks & Recreation Department website. Babe Ruth is open to players ages 13-16 (aged out of Little League) of all ability levels. The league is planning three seasons in 2021: spring, summer and fall.
Town meetings tonight include the Zoning Advisory Committee (7).
