Hopkinton Today: Wednesday, July 20

by | Jul 20, 2022 | Featured: Features, Hopkinton Today

Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo and video of the day.

With temperatures anticipated to reach the mid-90s every day for the rest of the week and a heat advisory on tap for Wednesday, the Hopkinton Fire Department is reminding residents to take safety precautions, especially during outdoor activities, to prevent illness and injuries.

The latest edition of Tales from a Townie tells the story of an ancient pine cone’s journey to becoming part of a plaque recognizing local firefighters.

The Central Massachusetts Mosquito Control Project announced that personnel will be in Hopkinton to spray for mosquitoes on August 2, 3, 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, 24, 30 and 31. The dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions, mosquito populations, mosquito virus activity and/or special event spraying.

This week’s Senior Snippets includes information on programs including exercise classes, Our Time Memory Cafe and Repair Cafe.

Town meetings tonight include the Upper Charles Trail Committee (7) and Affordable Housing Trust Fund Board (7).
