Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a video or two to brighten your morning.
The Planning Board at Monday’s meeting voted 6-1 in favor of three respective amendments to the solar special permit and stormwater management permit for the proposed 2.4-megawatt solar array off Wilson Street. The applicant, Grasshopper Energy, has been working with town consultant BETA Group on a stormwater management system that would incorporate a shade- and drought-tolerant seed mix that could thrive underneath the solar panels, which are to be packed more closely together than in a typical array.
A youth hockey program was fined $2,100 by the Hopkinton Health Department for allegedly failing to ensure its players were following COVID rules following a team’s appearance in a tournament in Pennsylvania earlier this month.
Two dozen members of the Hopkinton Police Department recently completed interactive, scenario-based training utilizing the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office’s Mobile Training Center, a specialized trailer that provides officers the ability to train for situations they may encounter during their daily duties.
Town meetings tonight include the Parks & Recreation Commission (5:30) and Growth Study Committee (7).
