Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a video or two to brighten your morning.
The Hopkinton Farmers Market returns to the Town Common on Sundays from 1-5 p.m., starting June 6 and running through Oct. 10. Among the items offered will be produce, fresh bread and other baked goods, granola, chocolates, coffee beans, honey and maple syrup, traditional Italian pasta, handmade soaps, handmade fudge, fresh fish and flowers.
Hopkinton’s Tim Simoes, a senior on the Army baseball team, recently was named Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year. A second baseman, Simoes helped Army reach the league championship series, which starts Wednesday.
Hopkinton Police Lt. John Porter graduated May 14 from the Massachusetts Municipal Association-Suffolk University Certificate in Local Government Leadership and Management program, the HPD announced.
Town meetings tonight include Parks & Recreation (5:30), Board of Appeals (7) and Trail Coordination and Management Committee (7).
Photo of the Day: Workers put the finishing touches on the removal of the house at 85 West Main St. The home, which was built in the late 1800s, was demolished last week in order to make room for the expansion of the neighboring gas station and convenience store.
