HPD: 2-vehicle crash results in personal injuries

by | Mar 10, 2025 | Featured: News,

Two vehicles crashed on Chestnut Street Monday morning, damaging a pole and injuring a Hyde Park man, according to a Hopkinton Police Department press release.

Fernando Carrion, 32, of Hyde Park, was transported by ambulance to the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester, according to Deputy Chief Scott van Raalten. Both vehicles involved were towed from the scene.

The motor vehicle crash occurred at approximately 6:32 a.m., van Raalten stated. The accident led to Chestnut Street being closed until approximately 11 a.m. “for utility work to repair a damaged pole,” according to van Raalten. There was a possibility Chestnut Street could face closure later in the day for further utility work.

The crash is under investigation by HPD and the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (CEMLEC) Accident Reconstruction Team.
