Book Club

One of life’s pleasures is a good book. Another is having the time to read it. At this monthly meeting, participants can relax and bring refreshments, all while enjoying book reviews and socializing. This month’s book is “Drive Your Plow over the Bones of the Dead” by Olga Tokarczuk.
Our Time Memory Cafe at the Senior Center
Thursday, Sept. 3, 1 p.m.
This is a welcoming gathering for those experiencing forgetfulness or mild cognitive impairment, or living with dementia, and their care partner, family and friends. The cafe is a place to socialize, share experiences and form friendships. This month’s activity is decorating cookies. This is a joint venture between Senior Services and the Hopkinton Public Library. For more information, call the Senior Center.
A Musical Journey Through the Years
Thursday, Sept. 10, 1 p.m.
Tommy Rull will perform the music of artists such as Frank Sinatra, Neil Diamond, Kenny Rogers, Elvis Presley, Barry Manilow and more in this program sponsored by the Friends of Hopkinton Seniors in honor of National Senior Center Month. Attendees are encouraged to sing along and dance.
Senior Spirit Week

The Senior Center is bringing back its annual spirit week to celebrate National Senior Center Month. The themes for each day are: Monday, comfy cozy; Tuesday, tie dye; Wednesday, sports fanatic; Thursday, Hopkinton pride; and Friday, flannel.
Senior Resource and Information Fair
Thursday, Sept. 17, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
This community event will feature representatives from a wide range of local organizations. Seniors can explore resources, services and educational opportunities focused on aging, wellness and planning for the future. The event will feature short information sessions, free 10-minute chair massages, door prizes and more. It is open to seniors in all towns.
