UPDATE Sports Roundup: HHS girls volleyball bows out of tourney; boys XC wins league meet

State tournament time has arrived for fall sports at Hopkinton High School. First up was the girls volleyball team, which traveled to Bishop Feehan in Attleboro for a 4 p.m. match Thursday. Feehan, seeded 13th in Division 1, took a 3-0 victory, winning by scores of 25-18, 25-17 and 25-12.

The Hillers were seeded 20th. The teams played last week, with Feehan winning the first two games, Hopkinton battling back to tie, then Feehan taking the decisive game for a 3-2 victory. …

The Hillers field hockey team, seeded 10th in Division 1, opens tournament play Saturday at noon, hosting 23rd-seeded Brookline. …

Tournament brackets for boys and girls soccer are due to be released Saturday.

Hillers runners win TVL title

The HHS boys cross-country team won the Tri-Valley League meet last week, led by individual champion Sean Finnegan. Teammate Matt Fitzgibbons took fifth.

The HHS girls finished fourth in their meet.
