Drivers are encouraged to find alternate routes to access Interstate 495 northbound Friday night as crews conduct a 24-hour ramp closure at the Interstate 90/Interstate 495 interchange in Hopkinton Friday and Saturday.

The closure will begin Friday at 8 p.m. and continue to 8 p.m. Saturday night. Crews will use the closure to construct a temporary ramp, according to a notice from the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.

According to MassDOT, the I-90 eastbound ramp to I-495 northbound (Exit 106) will be closed. Traffic is scheduled to detour on I-495 southbound to West Main Street (Exit 54A) in order to reverse direction onto I-495 northbound. MassDOT stated in its notice that it also would close a single right lane on West Main Street eastbound at the I-495 interchange to facilitate detoured traffic.

Appropriate signage and law enforcement details will be in place. Drivers should anticipate delays and exercise caution while traveling through work zones.
