Exciting summer sessions challenge children to become their best selves

Education Station co-founders Christine Chapman and Sims Yun are excited about new summer offerings that reflect the same mindful approach to learning that families have come to expect.

“In our small group sessions, students are challenged to become their best selves and provided with the academic support, enrichment and coaching necessary to successfully navigate their educational and personal journeys,” Chapman said. “We’re thrilled to see our vision for learning already building confidence in our students.”

Summer Academy sessions, modeled after the popular Homework Academy, offer students in first through eighth grades with opportunities to strengthen math, writing and reading comprehension skills. Sign up for single sessions or multiple-session packs.

Book Club engages students in 90-minute discussions of assigned summer titles, including questions about theme, plot, character development, etc.

Two levels of single-session study skills workshops will focus on math, time management, critical writing, critical reading and research. Students will learn to study effectively to become empowered learners who set goals, become accountable and find success.

Chapman adds that learning how to systematically approach work results in academic success and helps develop self-confidence in their students.

A new weeklong pilot, Mini Globe Trekkers, offered three times this summer, features an interdisciplinary exploration of Thailand, culminating in student presentations about their “world travel” experience.

EmpowerYOU, a coaching and empowerment program, offers students in Grades 6-10 with opportunities to explore their identities and create their own personal brand and profile.

“I think this is what sets us apart,” Chapman added. “At Education Station we are committed to helping young people feel known, engaged and confident during a time when so many students struggle with anxiety and fear.”

College application bootcamps and workshops, SAT and ACT prep courses in multiple delivery formats and the Advanced Placement Ready workshops also launch this summer.

“We’re excited for families to try us out, whether it’s by taking advantage of one summer academy session, study skills workshop or college essay session. We’re grateful to be so well received by our community!” Chapman said enthusiastically.
