July 4 Horribles Parade to take another year off

by | Jun 21, 2021 | Featured: News, News

Hopkinton’s annual July 4 Horribles Parade will not be held for a second straight year.

“With the [COVID] restrictions just getting lifted and all the construction around the Town Common, it just felt like it would make sense to hold off this year,” said Dan McIntyre, who organizes the event with the help of family and friends. “We’ll come back stronger next year.”

In past years, the event has featured police cars, fire trucks, floats, horses, marching musicians and more. There are water fights between participants and willing spectators, and candy thrown from floats.

McIntyre noted that the organizing committee is always looking for more volunteers. Those interested in helping to plan out the 2022 event should email messcorp@aol.com.
