Paint studio for all levels of artists
Believe it or not, there’s a little artist in all of us. So, no matter what your level of artistry actually is, Canvas n Cup paint studio is guaranteed to bring out everyone’s true colors.
“I’m not an artist and I can do this,” said owner Mahsa Ghavamian, a Hopkinton resident.
Ghavamian opened her business in January and has been providing participants step-by-step instructional classes to create picture-perfect canvas art as well as a great time doing so.
What sets Canvas n Cup apart from other paint studios is that it’s not set in a bar or restaurant setting like many others.
“I think people can get intimidated when they’re painting in that type of atmosphere. Here, it’s just the studio where adults and kids can paint and enjoy themselves without other distractions,” explained Ghavamian.
The Milford paint studio is big and bright and decorated with — you guessed it — canvas art from events Canvas n Cup has hosted. Whether it’s a family get-together, a birthday party, a girls night out, a team-building work function or a fundraiser, Ghavamian can organize the perfect event for any scenario.
One particularly memorable fundraiser Ghavamian hosted was for a group of active military personnel with members of their families who were raising funds for Family Resources Group 181, which supports spouses while their husbands and wives are deployed overseas.
“It was amazing. There were 40 active military service members and their families taking part. It was the most beautiful time,” Ghavamian said.
Canvas n Cup donates 25 percent of its profits to any fundraiser.
Canvas n Cup also is a fun day activity for kids.
“It gets children off the electronics for a while,” Ghavamian said.
For youngsters who don’t want to paint a canvas, there’s an option to paint a clay piece such as a teddy bear, an owl or a truck.
“There’s lots to choose from. Most of them are [piggy] banks,” the owner explained.
Parents only pay for the clay pieces and painting materials.
Speaking of young artists, Canvas n Cup is offering art programs throughout the summer afternoons. Activities include canvas and ceramic painting, glass and mosaic decorating, and acrylic pouring with instruction. The weekly programs are geared for children 8-14 years old. Prices range from $250 to $300 per week, or $60 per day. Online registration is available.
For those interested in a canvas party or event, acrylic paint, stretched canvases, brushes, aprons, cups and other materials are included in the price of each class. Ghavamian is able to provide students in wheelchairs with accessible paint areas. Complimentary drinks along with assorted pastries, cookies and muffins are provided. Cakes and other refreshments may be brought in, including alcohol for those 21 and over.
Canvas n Cup is located on the first floor of 189 Main St. in Milford and has accessible entryways. There’s convenient parking in the back along with on-street parking. Events and classes are booked online. For more information on paint parties, events and summer programs, visit canvasncup.com or call 508-381-2360.
