HHS Sports Roundup: Boys hockey, girls hockey record first wins of season

The Hopkinton High School boys hockey team picked up its first win of the season on Wednesday, as Joe Carrazza recorded a hat trick and Joe Scardino scored twice in a 6-2 victory over Dover-Sherborn.

After HHS gave up a goal 90 seconds into the game, Manoli Barris tied the score on a shot from the blue line. Carrazza then tallied despite the Hillers being shorthanded with two players in the penalty box. Hopkinton took control in the second period, scoring three times on two goals from Carrazza and one from Scardino. Scardino added a third-period goal to complete the scoring.

The Hillers lost to Algonquin on Monday, 6-1. …

The girls hockey co-op team also recorded its first win Wednesday, topping East Bridgewater, 2-0. Bianca Musgrave and Sophia Mazzuchelli scored the goals, while Abby Wayne recorded the shutout in net.

Boys indoor track and field posted wins over Holliston (68-27) and Ashland (85-10) on Tuesday at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston. Double winners for HHS included Sean Golembiewski (300 meters and 55 hurdles), Declan Mick (high jump), Neil Abraham (55 dash) and Anshu Velur (long jump). …

Girls track routed Ashland (95-0) but fell to Holliston (52-43) on Tuesday. Double winners were Ellie Driscoll (55 hurdles), Carmen Thomas (55 dash), Sinead Herr (300) and high jump (Bridget and Keira O’Connor). Single winners included Katie Callery (mile), Emily Hayward (600), Steph Johnson (1,000), Autumn Tumbleton (2 mile), Sowmya Karthikeyan (long jump), Kate Powers (shot put) and the 4×400 relay team of Herr, Aubrey Thomas, Grace Joy and Johnson. …

Boys basketball dropped a 69-65 decision to visiting Dover-Sherborn on Tuesday. …

Girls basketball fell to Dover-Sherborn on Tuesday, 49-35, despite 10 rebounds from Lexy Trendel.
