Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo and video of the day.
The School Committee met for nearly three hours Thursday night to tackle some longstanding controversial topics, including the mask policy debate and the approval of the school calendar that now will include additional holidays representing Hopkinton’s diverse cultures.
Also at Thursday’s meeting, the School Committee responded to a complaint by a Hopkinton resident against two School Committee members, saying that they were in violation of the state’s open meeting law while discussing committee policy with a resident who is planning to run for the School Committee.
Enter Stage Left’s presentation of “Matilda Jr. the Musical,” postponed by last weekend’s snowstorm, will be held this coming weekend at the Hopkinton Middle School auditorium.
Town meetings tonight include the Board of Health (5:30), Permanent Building Committee (6:30), Planning Board (7) and Youth Commission (7:30)
Photo of the Day: Friday’s ice storm created freezing conditions all over town, including on this plant.
