Edward Barry
Edward Matthew Barry, 60, of Upton passed away Feb. 14 peacefully at home, surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on Aug. 27, 1961, Ed was the son of the late Edward and Corinne (Iadarola) Barry, He was a graduate of Hopkinton High School, and self-employed. Ed was the personification of service to others.
Ed studied the art of karate and mentored numerous students over a period of 40 years, earning the rank of fifth degree black belt. An accomplished equestrian, and proficient in the intricacies of farm management, he was essential to farms all over New England. His aptitude for drumming spanned decades and was his true lifelong passion. From performing to instruction, he was one of the most respected musicians in the community.
Ed is survived by his loving sister Corinne (Barry) Yannone and husband John of New Hampshire, his sister Theolinda Barry of Uxbridge, and his loving partner, Kelley McCauley of Upton.
Calling hours will be on Sunday, Feb. 20, from 4-8 p.m. at the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home, 46 Water Street, Milford.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 187 Hopedale Street, Hopedale, on Monday, Feb. 21, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Milford.
