Former Hopkinton High School baseball standouts Stephen Simoes and Ben McKenzie had memorable seasons as teammates at Bowdoin College.

Simoes led the team with a .407 batting average and .505 on-base percentage and was second with a .568 slugging percentage. He also had nine steals in 10 attempts, tops on the team. Unfortunately, his season ended early (after 23 games) due to a leg injury.

McKenzie hit .315 with team highs in doubles (9), triples (3), home runs (5) and walks (17). He set a program record with six hits in a 17-4 victory over rival Bates on April 30.

Both players are sophomores after taking a year off during the pandemic.

Bowdoin posted a record of 16-19 this season but went 8-4 in the New England Small College Athletic Conference and won the East Division for the first time since 2006.
