Guided Trail Walk with HPL/Hopkinton Trails Club
Thursday, June 16, 6-7:30 p.m., Hughes Trail
The Hopkinton Public Library and the Hopkinton Trails Club are combining for a summer series of easy guided trail walks in Hopkinton. Participants will experience the trails while learning about the green spaces in town. No walking or hiking experience is needed. Walks will last 1-2 hours and cover roughly 1.5-2 miles. Participants should bring water, wear sneakers or hiking shoes and wear bug spray. Walkers will gather at 6 p.m. at the designated trail parking area. The first walk is the Hughes Trail, which starts at 192 Hayden Rowe Street. Visit the library’s website calendar for more info.

Summer Reading
Starts June 23
Summer reading programs for adults, young adults and children start June 23. Participants can earn points to be eligible for prize drawings while reading great books, attending great programs and more. The online registration link at the library website will be live on June 23.

Birds of Prey
Monday, June 27, 2-3 p.m.
Get up close with some feathered friends. Find out why hawks, owls, eagles, ospreys and falcons are considered birds of prey, and discover their diversity while meeting three species native to Massachusetts. Animal experts will share some tips to help spot these birds in the area. This program is targeted for children ages 6-12 and their caregivers. Registration is required and will open one week prior to the event.

Terrific Turtles with Joy Marzolf
Tuesday, June 28, 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Joy Marzolf of The Joys of Nature will lead an informative presentation for all ages. Attendees will learn about turtles in New England from tiny musk turtles to seasonal sea turtle visitors, as well as how to help some of the most endangered turtles.

Our Coyote Neighbors with John Maguranis
Thursday, June 30, 6-7:30 p.m.
This program focuses on learning to coexist with coyotes. John Maguranis has a great ability to distill information from scientists, researchers and biologists and present it in a way that is meaningful and memorable.
