The Hopkinton Country Club Charitable Foundation (HCCCF) will be celebrating its decade-long journey of empowering youth and families in the local community during its annual evening gala event.

This fall’s “10 Years of Giving” gala will be held on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 6:30-11 p.m. at the Hopkinton Country Club and feature great food, a beautiful venue, live music, a cash bar, holiday shopping opportunities, unique silent auction items and, most importantly, “a lot of fun.”

“The Hopkinton Country Club Charitable Foundation has been a longtime supporter of families who face the greatest needs,” said gala coordinator Susan Domski. “This year’s event will be both elegant and festive as we celebrate our donors and community partners for supporting local youth and families over the past 10 years.”

Since 2010, the HCCCF has supported youth development and economic assistance programs for local families in need. Today, the foundation donates close to $100,000 annually to nonprofit organizations that support “the most vulnerable youth and families in our local communities.”

The HCCCF also partners with the Foundation for Metrowest to offer the Youth in Philanthropy Program in Hopkinton. This program is a 20-week course that teaches teens all about philanthropy. The students learn how to identify needs within the community, visit local charities, vet these organizations and ultimately grant $10,000 to chosen organizations. Classes are held at no cost to the students thanks to a grant from the HCCCF. More than 20 high school students completed the program this year.

In order to provide this type of financial assistance, the foundation holds two major fundraisers per year — an annual golf and tennis tournament in the spring and the gala in the fall. This past May the HCCCF held its 10th annual charity golf and tennis tournament, which raised close to $60,000. Along with the other programs, the HCCCF was able to use that money to support new non-profit organizations such as The Whole Child in Upton and continue to support partners such as Straight Ahead Ministries and a number of local food pantries.

The committee putting together this year’s gala hopes that the formal event is just as successful in order to continue its mission of giving to others.

The formal evening event (black tie optional, cocktail/formal dress) is set to be “elegant and fun” with a live band playing at cocktail hour as well as dancing with the Never In Vegas band.

Although the event is being held at the Hopkinton Country Club, the event is not restricted to club members.

“This is such a great town, and the more people become aware of what the HCCCF does, the more organizations we will be able to serve,” said Jeremy Hartman, the foundation’s president.

Hartman said it will be exciting to celebrate 10 years of supporting the community.

“It will be great to reflect on how far we have come in the past 10 years,” he said.
