The Veterans Breakfast is held on the first Friday of every month from 9-10 a.m. at the Hopkinton Senior Center. No registration is required. All veterans are welcome to share in the camaraderie of fellow vets. The next breakfast is Oct. 7 and is sponsored by an anonymous donor. Organizers will recall several past military events that happened on this date — such as the assassination of nearly 100 Americans on Wake Island in 1943, and President Gerald Ford enacting a law allowing females to be admitted to service academies in 1975 — and entertain sports fans with baseball events from Oct. 7. Last month’s discussions will be extended to include past significant events of selected Hopkinton veterans. Future veterans activities planned for Hopkinton will be announced.
