As preparations continue at the start line area for Monday’s Boston Marathon, on Saturday there was a moment of silence at 2:49 p.m. in recognition of One Boston Day and to honor those affected by the Boston Marathon bombing of 2013.

“Ten years ago, we came together as a nation sharing love, compassion and unbelievable strength in response to the tragedy at the Boston Marathon finish line,” Hopkinton Marathon Committee chair Dorothy Ferriter-Wallace shared. “Today we honor all those affected as we pause in remembrance and look towards the future with the enduring message of hope, love and resilience … Boston Strong!”

When I was around 8 years old, I lived in Hopkinton! We lived next to a gas station on the corner of Main Street across from a storage building of some sort! At that the race started around a tree growing nursery on the way to Ashland! Then it started near the common which I used to walk through on the way to school! Then I believe the start was moved to the downtown area which I believe is where the gas station was by our house! I bet nothing downtown is the same! I would love to know if the house we lived in for four years is still there!

Hi, the start line is beside the town common. The house beside the gas station is still there! Tho a lot has changed in our town, it’s still a tight knit community. I hope this helped.
