Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo of the day.

Residents of the Springwood neighborhood might not be too excited about the tree cutting underway off Kimball Road, but the town announced Monday that it cannot stop it. It’s not clear what the plan is, but the developer previously indicated a solar array was the goal.

The Hopkinton Women’s Club will host its 35th annual Meet the Candidates Night tomorrow at 7 p.m. The event will be broadcast on HCAM.

The Hopkinton Lions Club’s next monthly meeting is Thursday, May 4, at 6:30 p.m. The Lions are preparing for their Family Fling tug-of-war contests (April 29), Community Yard Sale (May 13) and Family Day dunk tank activity (Sept. 23).

The annual Hopkinton Garden Club Plant Sale will take place Saturday, May 13, from 8 a.m.-noon at the Town Common. Club members will be selling annuals and perennials (many dug from their own gardens or grown directly from seed) including a wide variety of flowers, hanging planters, vegetables, herbs and house plants.

Our latest Business Profile highlights the MetroWest YMCA’s Outdoor Center in Hopkinton, which is offering traditional day camps to three age groups and over 20 specialty camps.

Town meetings tonight include the Select Board (6) and Conservation Commission (7).
