The Hopkinton Police Department confirmed in an email Friday morning that Sgt. Tim Brennan has been placed on paid administrative leave. Neither Police Chief Joseph Bennett nor Town Manager Norman Khumalo would provide further details.

As part of the Main Street Corridor Project this week, crews will begin the paving of Main Street from the Muffin House Cafe to Ray Street. The work is anticipated to take three days and is weather dependent. To expedite the work, public safety has approved a 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. workday for Monday through Saturday.

Personnel from the Central Massachusetts Mosquito Control Project (CMMCP) are scheduled to spray areas of Hopkinton on May 31 and June 6, 7, 13, 14, 21, 27 and 28.

The Hopkinton High School softball team defeated Holliston, 13-8, on Thursday in the Strike Out Cancer game, a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.

The Friends of Hopkinton Seniors hosted the annual Plant and Book Sale at the Senior Center Friday and Saturday.

Town meetings tonight include the Board of Health (5:30) and Planning Board (7)
