Good morning, Hopkinton! Welcome to the daily update we call Hopkinton Today — a quick recap of yesterday’s news, highlights of what’s on tap, and a photo of the day.

The Community Preservation Committee at its meeting Thursday approved several extensions until next July 1 for projects that previously were awarded funding and discussed possible options for combating invasive Japanese knotweed.

As part of the Main Street Corridor Project this week, workers will focus on installation of conduit and bases for site lights from Muffin House Cafe to Ash Street. Work will take place in the excavated sidewalk area.

Hopkinton Family Day, a community event featuring live entertainment, games, activities and food trucks, and topped off with a fireworks display, is set to return on Sept. 23 the field behind Hopkinton Middle School.

The Hopkinton Center for the Arts is celebrating and exploring the methods of visual storytelling through graphic novels, comics, sculpture, painting and illustrations with “Narrative Exhibition” from July 11-Aug. 25.
